The Town House Stamps Are In The Shop

Woo hoo, at last they’re in the shop and available for purchase – excitement and nerves all in equal measure. They’re all red rubber and unmounted which means for the best stamping result I recommend using a sticky foam mount on the back but of course it’s not necessary. All you need is a stamping block and some stick pritt and you’re good to go. The individual houses are approx 11 x 4.5cm and the 4 houses in a row 11 x 9cm

There’s a Dutch house with the phrase ” Big City Life” that comes with it.

A French house with “La Maison” of course,

A Georgian house with “Home Sweet Home”,

A Luxembourgish house with “Chez Nous”,

A second Luxembourgish house because I couldn’t resist and the phrase “Down Town”,

and my little row of houses.

I can’t pick a favourite it’s just too hard.

To buy them they’re available here in the shop  http://shop.basementstudio.lu/

I do hope you like them as much as I do.

Monday In The Studio

I think I should rename Messy Monday to Manic Monday that’s how it’s felt for the past few weeks. After lots and lots of dental treatment mixed with a sinusitis, ear infection and struggling with weeks of deafness in one ear, things are starting to look up and I’m feeling a bit more like me again. Hey, yesterday I opened my journal and put some paint on the page and that’s not been me for ages.  Add into the pot some truly dreadful weather, not like Summer at all and a broken laptop thanks to a glass of water and I think the start of my Summer has been at times depressing.

Anyhoo it’s nearly July so things have got to get better, haven’t they?

Big big big news, I have my stamps all ready here to go in the shop. Woo hoo.  I just need to package them up and we’re good to go. Here’s a little peek at one of the sets.  I couldn’t resist having a little colour in.

The August edition of Craft Stamper magazine came out last week and I’ve a card featured in the 3D Challenge pages this time. To be honest I’d forgotten about this one seeing as we work so far in advance for print so when it came it was a pleasant surprise. The whole mag this month is full of cards just to show that mixed media isn’t all about canvases and journals.

As I said the weather has been absolutely apalling in June so every minute without rain was a minute spent out doors making the most of it. It’s always more enjoyable to take everything outside to work. The sun seems to make planning days much easier.

Basement Studio also received a party commission last week to cut shapes to be used in table decorations for a Vegas themed party. I cut 400 shapes to glue onto 200 stems of wire  and wired up 100 playing cards. Plus they were all glittered too so as you can imagine there was glitter everywhere. It felt like Christmas.

Hopefully I’ll get time to finish that journal page this week before next Messy Monday.

Have fun

What’s been going on in May?

Good question, very good question. I’ve not written here since April and that’s a shame but honestly May has been a bit like a whirlwind.

I’ve not been sitting around painting my toenails although it was very tempting a couple of weeks ago when the weather became so nice I actually put some sandals on. No, apart from digging, alot of digging in the garden, I’ve been busy designing some new stamps this time for me and my very own brand which has been very very exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. It’s a big thing to try and get it just right and it took a long time before I’d actually sign them off as finished. I can’t wait now to see how they work.

Meanwhile I did put together a new mini album using the envelopes I received in the ATC swap a while back with Canvas Corp Brands. I’d been meaning to use the envelopes for some time as to me they are just as beautiful as the ATC’s themselves.

I’ll be showing the inside pages soon.

For now at least, have a good week.
