Hello Spring

Last week was a particularly draining week emotionally but this week I’m ready to pick myself up, leave that behind and move on. Signs of Spring are all around now and the weather too is giving us some really lovely days to get out and tidy the garden. It’s nice to see the covers come off the furniture at last and we’ve even cranked up the bbq.

It was so nice to open my journal again this week after what has been a long few weeks. I didn’t realize how much I’d missed it until I started laying down some papers and glue.

ATC Swap With Canvas Corp

It’s been many years since I hosted and swapped ATC’s. I used to love these little pieces of art so much. What’s not to love? They’re quick to make, not at all intimidating in size and great fun to swap.

When Christine from Canvas Corp asked me if I’d organize a swap for the team I jumped at it, take me back to the days of real post please and making art in mini form.

I gathered a group together and gave them all a posting list. They  had no idea who would be sending to who to keep it a lovely surprise. It was so lovely to read the chatter and see how everyone was getting on via our Facebook group.

Back in my own studio I set to work creating my master board which I cut into ATC’s.  They had to reflect my personal style so of course I chose to use my favourite colours with a touch of mixed media thrown in.

A Quick Rocker Card

baby card

I say quick but in the end it turned out to be a bit trickier than I thought. To make the image balance exactly upright I had to keep moving the little peg around until the phrase in the centre sat perfectly horizontally.  Thank goodness for the little peg!

All of the papers are from Canvas Corp and are from their Baby Collection and as I’m a lover of fussy cutting I had no problem in cutting out the cute pram from the sheet.

The card is now on it’s way to a very special new family member.
