And what have I made? Well, let me show you. I was very kindly sent a beautiful tea themed stamp and die called ‘A Cup Of Thanks’ which was crying out for some gorgeous colouring. I embossed the image with Oasis powder before choosing my colours. Even though the image would have looked lovely in glorious colour, I thought it best to stick to just three colours so it wouldn’t look too busy.

In the package, I also received some fabulous little packets of sequins and beads which gave me the inspiration to make a shaker card.

The ‘Thanks’ is also part of the teacup die set from Studio Katia and once cut I gave it a coat of Calypso Embossing Glitter.

After colouring my teacup, I over inked with the Embossing pad and sprinkled over Clear Sparkle to give it a lovely glittery look.

It would make a lovely thank you to go with a little gift at Christmas, maybe make a tag to match perhaps?

Getting Ahead For Christmas

“Stop the year I wanna get off!!”…… just kidding! Seriously though, does it feel like being on a very long slide with Christmas at the bottom and you just keep on getting faster? Maybe it’s just me or maybe it’s because of the insanely gorgeous Autumn weather we’ve been having that it became difficult to visualize Christmas.  Or maybe it’s the crazy routine in publishing when you’re planning December in July and by November it’s already Spring!

Anyway, this was a discussion of sorts way back in July with my fellow teammates from Paper Pen and Plan. We were wondering why we never get to finish up our December Journals/planners even though at the beginning we always seem to be so focused. We came to the conclusion that if we planned things earlier and in a more organized way it should make the rest fall into place. So we’ve each taken a topic and week to showcase what we’re using and how we’re using it. I was up last week and I was talking about Inserts.

I decided to make myself a felt notebook cover in a standard size and of course I made my own inserts to go with it using a Simple Stories collection called Cozy Christmas which you can find at Paper Pen and Plan on Etsy.

To go with my theme I made a little video tutorial which you can find below.

If you want to join us then head over to Facebook and join the Paperpenandplan group where we’ll be more than happy to help inspire you. I’ll be showing inside my planner and memory book as I add to it and I’d love to hear if you make one of your own or have your own ideas for December planning.

Have a good weekend

Blog Hop With WOW! and Pink And Main

I was so pleased to have been sent this butterfly stamp set from Pink and Main called “You Can Fly” and it’s coordinating die and couldn’t wait to try it out.

You Can Fly by Pink And Main

The butterfly stamp was just crying out to be stamped on acetate and the results didn’t disappoint. I ended up stamping and embossing in several different powders just to see how they looked. I used Rose Gold, Metalline Himalayan Musk, Long Island Teal and  Calypso Embossing Glitter.

As well as the brand new heat tool from WOW! Embossing Powders which is absolutely amazing! You have to get one!

With all those left over butterflies the only thing to do was to show them off by gluing them to some twisted hazel twigs and putting these into a glass bowl.

Anyway, that’s enough about me, please go on and discover all the other inspirational projects the other designers have to offer.

The Blog Hop prize announcement will be made on Wednesday, October 22, 2018, on both Pink & Main & WOW! Embossing blog. The Prizes to be won are a $25 gift certificate to Pink & Main store, 6 x powders + carry case from the WOW! Embossing Powder Store.

You have come from Jackie

A Creative Partnership

Sometimes you come across partnerships which just work so perfectly you know it’s right. Well, for a while now I’ve had just that very thought.

I’m very lucky to be in a position where I work with some amazing companies and two of those companies are Canvas Corp Brands and WOW Embossing Powders.  To me, it makes perfect sense to put these two companies together and so that’s just what I did in a blog post on the Canvas Corp Brands blog today.

I had a load of fun creating this card using one of my favourite background techniques using both WOW and Canvas Corp Brands and if you want to see how I made it then go over to the CCB blog.

Have a good weekend
