One of the nice things about crafting with a friend is being able to give each other ideas and challenges sometimes way out of your comfort zone. This week during a conversation with Clare she challenged us both to create a black and white background. As a lover of colour, colour and more colour this was already sounding scary but once I’d covered my page with black gesso (way too scary for words) then white, I thought, hey I can do this.
I decided on a sketch of a crow as I’m still wallowing in the Halloween vibe and some simple pen work with water colour to paint in my bird.
I think he came out quite well. I might actually embellish the page further with some more doodles and if I do I’ll share it here.
Have a good weekend

Thank you Lynne for those lovely words. It’s too easy to get stuck in a colour rut so it does us good every so often to break out and try something new. I’d love to see what you can come up with for a black and white theme. Either send me a link here or post it on my Facebook page basementstudio xxxx
Jaine I love when you share your results after you push your boundaries and conquer those fearful voices…it gives me courage to risk it too. I LOVE your Mr. Crow in all shades of grey and I can totally relate to those moments of anxiety because I love color too… now I might just have to try a black and white just to share with you! Smile
