It’s been an exciting week in the studio with boxes arriving full of stock for the shop, I’ve found it hard to take time for a bit of creating. Yesterday I did however manage to find an hour or so with Clare via face time again, to add to a page in my journal which I’d started a few weeks ago.
Think Pink for October
October is Breast Cancer awareness month and everything is turning pink as a result. Canvas Corp very kindly sent members of the Crew a little goody bag of pink papers, pretty bits and paints to create something to inspire and motivate others as well as help to bring this issue to the front and keep the awareness going.
The contents of my goody bag were gorgeous, all pink, frilly and down right cute. I had the idea to create a canvas of some sort to hang above the desk so after a bit of thought and a cup of tea I decided to just go for it and see what came out.
For the canvas base I covered everything with some music score paper then added a coat of gesso.
Messy Fun Friday and the evolution of an image
“Messy Fun Friday” is the phrase adopted by my good friend Clare Brown after we spent the morning creating a journal page together via What’s App. We had such a good time creating together and getting messy it was almost as good as having her with me in the studio. Almost. We had such a laugh it made me think about perhaps making a video of my process in future.
For now though I’ll re-wind a bit to a couple of days ago when I sketched out this page in my journal.

Friday in the studio again
This is becoming a bit of a habit, I think I’ll make this Friday thing a regular date. Now is a good time to catch you up on what’s been happening in the studio and what’s on my desk going into the weekend.
Tomorrow I have a workshop with the Mosaik Ladies so this week I’ve been busy preparing for that. The kits are almost ready, just one or two things to do but on the whole I’m ready to go. The first one back after the summer break is always exciting and I suppose there’ll be lots of chit chat going on but the best thing will be to see the photo’s. Call me nosy but I love to see the photo’s people bring with them to put in their book project.
